No. You will receive the same degree as our on-campus diplomas.
I am an RN. How do I earn the bachelor's degree in Nursing?
The RN/BSN program is designed for the RN with an associate degree or diploma who seeks a bachelor's degree in nursing. The program consists of liberal education requirements, foundation and concentrated nursing courses.
Is the program accredited?
Yes, Kent State University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association. The nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
How are my achievements in nursing recognized?
The RN/BSN program is designed to build on your experience as a registered nurse.
How many credits will I need to graduate?
The number of credits that you will require for graduation will be dependent on an evaluation of your transcript(s). Contact an admissions advisor to schedule an evaluation.
What difference will a BSN degree make in my ability to practice nursing?
The only constant in nursing today is change, and a BSN education will allow you to manage change, not be managed by it. An emphasis on leadership and management skills facilitates upward mobility. Competence in areas of health promotion, health teaching, culture and information technology is developed along with skill in holistic nursing interventions. BSN education in nursing provides a foundation for graduate study.
